I don’t believe this. First of all she died before the first photograph could be taken – so this isn’t her. Secondly, women died during complicated childbirths frequently in the 1700s without advanced medical care we have today. I can’t imagine her having “multiple” sets of multiples, which by today’s standards are still very risky for moms and babies.

So she was literally used as a baby producing machine.
Why do people have to contrive stories like this with fake photos.. it happened it is interesting as fuck but you ruin it with deception

She wins the award for most productive baby factory, by a lot. Her ovaries were probably some freak of nature.
Well, practically speaking, her entire reproduction system was.

* Valentina Vassilyeva died in 1782, 44 years before the first photograph was taken in 1926. The actual woman in this photograph is an unknown elderly woman from New York around 1840–1845, not Valentina.
* An article in an 1878 issue of The Lancet stated: “the French Academy of Sciences attempted to verify the statements about Vassilyev’s children and contacted “M. Khanikoff of the Imperial Academy of St. Petersburg for advice as to the means they should pursue, but were told by him that all investigation was superfluous, that members of the family still lived in Moscow and that they had been the object of favors from the Government.
* James Segars (MD) said in a BBC interview: “In the past, every pregnancy was a risk to the mother’s life. Even if you had four sets of quads today, I’m not sure they’d all survive.”
* Northeastern University professor Jonathan Tilly additionally points out that it is highly unlikely for the time that Vassilyev could have had so many multiple births: “Even just the 16 sets of twins? I’d be shocked.”

If she did exist there is no evidence that this story is true and that certainly isn’t here because she died when likenesses were painted. Bravo internet, everyone here just got a little bit dumber.

She died in 1782. Photography was invented in the 1800’s. So this woman cannot be Valentina Vassilyeva. Fck AI!

LOL I don’t actually believe this
In those times that woman would have died straight up
There weren’t any notable survivings of multiples until the Dionnes
Descendants of this miraculous event spanning 30 years would still be all over social media and we’d all know about it

69? Some people would do anything for the meme

Also, if the title is to be believed, she never had a singleton pregnancy? Only multiples?
Wiki says that only two children didn’t survive birth, out of 69.
Wiki also says first pregnancy was reportedly at 18 and her last was at 58(!!).
Like, any one of these facts would be shocking for a woman in early 18th century Russia, but together it’s absolutely ridiculous.
More likely, also from wiki: “Some have suggested that the husband fathered that many children but had multiple wives over several years who were only referred to as Mrs. Vassilyev.”

This story is not accurate. The husband had multiple women in his life he was procreating with, and he referred to all of them as “Mrs. Valinyeva” in addition his actual wife. Also, that photo is not of his wife, it was later found to be a random older woman they used to fabricate the story.

Her last gynecological exam
That’s probably what my face would look like after all that too
Valentina “Clown Car” Vassilyeva
That isn’t her. She died in 1782 so there couldn’t be a photo of her.
Pregnancy PTSD

May she find the rest in eternity that she obviously never found in life.
16 sets of twins is wild lmao. I dont believe this honestly.
When you realllllllly hate having a period.
Honestly, one is hard enough right now
You can see the soul sucked right out of her.
Her Husband had another 38 kids, in total 107. In like 1750. Thats wild.
And she is 34 years old in the picture

This feels insanely unlikely. She lived in the 18th century, what are the chances she passed a bunch of children as her own for x reason ?
